Learning Outcomes and Application This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to manage emergency operations, usually within a single agency command context.Emergency operations are usually the result of an event such as a flood, storm or bushfire that generates a significant response requirement over a large area for protracted periods of time. Operations such as this differ from incidents where relatively small responses are required in tightly defined areas for relatively short periods of time such as a road accident.The unit is applicable to personnel who act as operational managers during emergency operations.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
